For the first time, I’ve found a mobile device commercial, that’s not from Apple, that I like. I think perhaps they’ve been taking notes (come on, that’s brilliant writing). Instead of talking about the technical jargon that consumers don’t care about, they show people using the device — something Apple is great at. And while they’re still not there, it’s a step in the right direction.
Now I think a stylus on a phone, err, tablet, err big-A-device… is dumb in 2012. And what they show it doing isn’t that revolutionary. However with the combination of a dark background, bright images, and music (my gosh, the music), it mesmerizes me each time it comes on the TV.
The music is by far my favorite part. It’s called Alone in Kyoto, by Air.
Are there any commercials that utterly grip you and don’t let go, for 30 seconds?
